Hilton Head, SC 2013

Last Saturday(8/31/13) we headed out for Hilton Head, SC.  My parents rented a house for all of us to come and vacation together. We did this a few years ago to Charleston, SC. However our family has grown by two little ones since then.

 

We loaded up the van the night before and got up very early around 2pm. We literally picked Presley up out of her bed and buckled her into her car seat. Both kids slept for the first four hours or so of the trip. We stopped and had breakfast once they woke up.

 

 

Then we traveled to Savannah to meet my parents, brother, and SIL. They had spent the night there and we were a little early to get into the house. We were pleasantly surprised to also see my brother, Drew was also in Savannah. He is getting married next month and we didn't think he was going to be able to come, but he made it happen! Yay!

 

We bored Brady to death while walking around Savannah. It was quite funny. He was whiny and very vocal about his lack of enthusiasm towards Savannah. He commented many times how this was not the beach. We had fun with it. We all teased him about Savannah all week. Sometimes being whiny and bored is part of being a kid.

  We then finished the trip to Hilton Head Island. This last 45 minutes or so was probably the most difficult on the kids and Caleb. We were all ready to be there. Caleb was tired. (I offered to drive, he won't let me. I think he thinks driving is a part of his manly duties.)  However, it could have been much, much worse. We were so so so excited to see the house AND beach.

 

We unloaded everything into our room,  quickly got settled, and immediately headed to the beach!

 

 

 

 

Both Presley and Brady LOVED the beach and pool immediately!

 

 

 

 

We cleaned up and grilled chicken and veggies for dinner. Everyone was pretty tired from the travel and excitement of the first day.
