Crazy Kids

It is kind of a nut house around here as of late. Presley is a mess. Now that she is walking she is IN TO EVERYTHING. I remember this stage with Brady, but Presley is much more curious than Brady ever was. She takes "no" as a challenge, while Brady took that as something he just wasn't supposed to do.

Brady is a talker and talks all the time. I mean you wouldn't believe how much he can talk.

Caleb and I look at each other with our "this is our life" look nearly every day. Extra special days we give that look to each other multiple times throughout.

I thought I would share some highlights of our beautiful, crazy life...

Conversation with Brady while washing some dishes...
Brady: Mom, we need to get some CLR.
Me: CLR, what, why?
Brady: because you see how the water comes out all crazy from the faucet, it would fix that.

I walked in Brady's room the other day to find this...
This was while Brady was "cleaning" his room. Obviously he is super efficient in cleaning. She was dancing up there, by the way. Oh my...

In the car today Brady was singing a song we sing at church and functions some called Jesus is Lord. The men lead and the women echo. Well, Brady was singing and he turned to look at Presley and said, "Presley, you are supposed to sing exactly what I sing right after me."

Presley decided to feed Rylan(the baby I keep) a goldfish cracker the other day. Fortunately, I realized what happened and was able to remove it from his mouth before he chocked on it.

Presley did this while I was feeding Rylan his bottle one day...
She loves pushing buttons on the tv.

Presley keeps sneaking into our bathroom, opening the top drawer, pulling out Caleb's toothbrush, and brushing her teeth, her hair, or both.

Presley pulled some bread and ranch dressing out of the trash and continued to dip her bread and suck off the ranch. So gross. (I immediately stopped this and washed her.)

Presley has dumped an entire bag of goldfish, the complete contents of Brady's bathroom drawer, and pretty much any thing else she touches.

I was watching Full House while eating my lunch one day and Presley was rebelling against nap time. She apparently really likes Full House.

I promise I watch them. I can go to the bathroom and come back to mayhem.

Our lives are kind of crazy, but it is an oh so good crazy. I wouldn't give anything in the world for it.

Monday Ramblings

Brady and Caleb went camping Friday night with some friends. This was Brady and Noah's first "real" camping trip. (Brady and Caleb have "camped" in the back yard several times)
Caleb is a great daddy. We have a group of friends who are also great daddy's. Such a huge blessing.

Presley and I had a little girl time while they were gone. We took a walk and made a Target run, which was fun until Presley refused to sit in the cart, then decided it would be fun to pull all the make-up off the shelves. She threw a major screaming fit when I wouldn't let her do these things.

This girl is a mess. But an oh so cute mess she is. We came home and got her a bath and she was out for the night.

We spent some time with my mom, sister and Oliver Saturday morning until Brady and Caleb made it home that afternoon.

Caleb wanted to go out for dinner and requested Chuy's, so that is what we did.

Caleb and I watched a movie after getting some very sleepy kiddos to bed.

Sunday night after worship services, Caleb played softball with some men from church. He let Brady "play" with them. Brady was so excited and did so well. They let him hit  a few times. He was so sweet cheering for his daddy. I wish I took some pictures. Maybe I will remember next time.

Weekend

We had a great weekend.

Saturday morning we spent a little time working around the house. We got cleaned up around lunch time and dropped the kids off at Caleb's parents house.

Caleb and I spent the rest of the day together doing whatever we wanted. We shopped at Target and Belk, ate an early dinner at The Pharmacy, and then shopped some more and at Opry Mills, specifically the new H & M.

It was good day out enjoying each others company. It is so easy to just get distracted and busy with life. It is always a good choice for us to spend some time together away from the kids just being together.

Brady and Presley had a great time at their grandparents house. They both love going to both sets of grandparents. Presley watched us leave and didn't cry or fuss. That is a success, my friends. (We usually sneak away from girl friend. )

Sunday was a crazy day. After worship services I helped host a baby shower for a friend's sister. She just moved in with her sister along with her daughter and is expecting a baby boy. They are literally living on top of each other right now.

It turned out to be a sweet, little shower. It was decorated with blue chevron and burlap and we just did a dessert bar since it was Sunday afternoon. Everything was cute and yummy.

(The few iPhone pictures I took aren't the best, but you get the idea. )

We were back at the church building at 5 for a Bible study, worship services, and an ice cream supper.

It was a good weekend, but went way too fast as always.

In developing news, Presley is (finally) taking several steps alone. She has been pulling up, cruising, and walking holding my hand for months. She has finally let go and taking more and more steps each day.

5 On Friday

I keep seeing 5 on Friday blogs. I have started one every Friday for the past few weeks, but never finished it. That happens a lot around here these days. Currently everyone is napping at the same time, so I thought I would try to get this finished while they nap. *Fingers Crossed they stay asleep for a bit*

1. Today is my 29th birthday! That is crazy to me. I don't feel like I should be entering my last year of my twenties. In fact, I feel like I just graduated high school. However, I know I have grown and matured since then, thankfully. I see instagram photos and tweets from high school and college girls and I am so happy to be past that stage. I am so much more comfortable in my own skin at this stage and not as worried about silly things. I love being a wife and mommy. There is a lot of good that comes from getting older and maturing, those are the things I am choosing to focus on as the big 3-0 approaches.

My sister shared this collage of us today. Thought I'd share.
*Anyone see a Presley look alike in the bathtub pic?*

2. Our first week back with Rylan is coming to a close. It hasn't been bad, but I wouldn't say it was great either. Next week, I have to get to work on creating a schedule we can all agree on.

3. The weather has been so nice recently. It has been in the 80's which is so unlike late July, early August here. I have been able to get out and walk at the park in the afternoon with the kids without suffocating from the heat and humidity. Who knows if it will stay that way or not.

4.  We planted a vegetable garden this year. We have loved it. We have had so much zucchini, so we have had zucchini prepared in just about every way possible. It has really helped us save some money, since I just cook based on which veggies we have at the time. I think the zucchini is slowing down. The cucumbers, bell peppers, and yellow squash are still going strong. I am excited to plant a bigger garden next year.

5. Last week, we caved and purchased a minivan. We had been thinking about it for a while. I had decided we would just keep what we had and save our money, when Caleb found one for a good price with a company he does business with. They gave us a great deal on our trade in and knocked a little off the price for us. It is a van. It is not my first choice in vehicle, necessarily. However, We are enjoying all the space and convenience it provides. It is the perfect vehicle for this season of life.

 Happy Friday!!!
