Thursday Fishing!

Brady got a fishing pole for Christmas this past year and has begged to use it since. He hasn't really had the opportunity. Caleb decided that would change while he was off from work.

I told Caleb about 20 times to make sure he takes pictures. I am so glad I did. Look at this sweetness. There may be a Christmas present coming out of this baby. ;)
Caleb, Brady, and Papa had a boys only fishing trip Thursday. (Brady did say that Presley could come too when she was bigger. I love his heart for his sister!)

Brady was so excited when Caleb got out his tackle box. Brady oohed and awwed at the different hooks and bait. He said,"Daddy, I can't believe you have all of your own stuff!".

Caleb told Brady the only rule was that he had to be quiet or the fish wouldn't bite. I added another rule that Brady could not touch the hooks with out help from Papa or Daddy. :)

I packed them a lunch and they enjoyed the day fishing off the bank. Papa caught three fish, but no one else did.

Brady came home exhausted. I woke him up at 6 pm! I think it is safe to say they all had a wonderful time.

I love having a boy! I really do! I love the sweet relationship that Brady and I have. I also love that Caleb and Brady have this bond that I will never fully understand. With that I am so excited for what the future holds for Presley and myself. Days like this make me so excited to spend "girl" days with her. I have big plans for things we will share together. I am also excited for the different relationship she will share with her daddy. Neither gender is "better or worse" than the other, they are just different and uniquely sweet!

Apparently all this family time has made me super sentimental this week. We have really enjoyed having Caleb home, but there is something nice about being able to get back to our normal routine.

Special Delivery

A special package arrived yesterday on our front porch.

I had ordered Brady's bedding for his twin bed last week when pottery barn was having a free shipping on all items day. That saved me $21!!!

We also had a couple gift cards from birthday and Christmas, so I didn't end up actually paying much at all.

Brady was so excited!!! He would not get off his bed. Ha!

He said, "I love the UPS man, he brings us fun packages."

It was so funny especially since we rarely order things online. I guess that makes it more special. I think it is exciting to get packages delivered, too!

The bedding looks great with his bed. I even like it with the green walls, so we may not paint them. I am still thinking on that.

Now, I need to get something for the window, a chest of drawers or other piece of furniture, and a few more things to hang on the walls.

His "big boy" room is slowly coming together. The key word being slow.

Home Run

Taking a water break in the dugout. Look how red Brady's face is.

Caleb's was off today, so we talked him into going to the park with us this morning. Brady and I try to go to the park several times a week. I get to walk, then Brady gets to play on the play ground. It does us both A LOT of good to get out of the house, soak up some Vitamin D, and get out some energy.

Learning to throw and catch

The walking track is around the baseball fields and nearly ever day there is a young child with a parent practicing while we are there. Nearly every day Brady tells me he has to play baseball on a team on that field and that he and his daddy need to practice.

Running.

Before I was a mom, I never believed parents when they said their 2 and 3 year old children told them they wanted to play a sport or join a specific class. I do now! This is exactly what Brady does. (We don't know when we are going to let Brady actually start playing on a team. We are still discussing it and want to see if the interest sticks around. We definitely don't want to push it.)

Running to home plate. He usually ran into the dugout, instead.

We asked Brady when we got there if he wanted to play on the playground, ride his tricycle, ride in the stroller, or play baseball. Obviously, he said baseball. Then he drug Caleb onto one of the fields. While I walked, Brady and Caleb practiced baseball. It was so cute. I love to see my boys playing together!

I think Caleb is explaining the order of the bases here.

Caleb was trying to teach Brady how to catch and the order of the bases. He did pretty good.  He kept yelling, "home run" and would take off running the bases.  He ran the bases probably 20 times.

High Five!
I am thankful Brady has such a good Daddy and that they are building a strong relationship. Such a blessing!

Baseball

For any one who may not know, Caleb played baseball in college. He was pretty good and his team won the NAIA World Series in 2004. It is a fact he doesn't like to broadcast, but was so honored to be a part of.

When we found out that Brady was a boy, he immediately started thinking of how they could play catch in the back yard and go to ball games together.

Caleb is not one to force Brady into liking baseball, that just happens to be what he is interested in. It is the same as if we have a daughter some day, I will immediately dream of  shopping and getting pedicures together, all the while, knowing she may hate those things.

Anyway, back to baseball.

We had taken Brady to a few college games, but he was too little to know.  So last year, Caleb was so excited to take Brady to his first professional baseball game, the Nashville Sounds. It is a minor league team, but you get the idea. We drove 30 minutes there and as soon as we got to the parking lot, Brady vomited everywhere.

Gross!

After a few does this mean we have to leave type questions and some are you kidding me death looks, a very disappointed daddy turned the car around and we all drove home with the windows down.

A few weeks ago, Caleb presented me with an idea to try a Sounds game again on opening night.

Of course, I said that was fine!

So Caleb, Brady, our friend Taylor, and I loaded up and headed to the Sounds game.

Brady was so so so so excited!!! He said about 5000 times, "I goin to a base ball game! Whaoo!"   As soon as we found our seats, which were great 4th row behind the 3rd base line, Brady yelled,"Hot Dog"!  He fell in love with the mascot, Ozzie and constantly looked/asked for him.  He took his baseball glove and his baseball cap. He ate a hot dog and cotton candy. He stayed awake the entire game and cheered every chance he got.

I think it is safe to say he thoroughly enjoyed the game!

Looks like we have another baseball fan in our house, which I am sure Caleb is thrilled about!

Brady and Mommy. This was before the hot dog, not interested in the picture.

Ozzie!!!

Brady and his cotton candy.

Sounds Win 1:5

Cheering on the team!
