4th of July Weekend

Saturday, we kicked off our long weekend by going to the lake. Our family hearts the lake!!! Brady was thrilled to be on the boat. Apparently my competitive spirit has been passed down to him, because every picture he threw up a "I am number one sign" all on his own! It was a perfect day to be on the lake.

We came home and took showers while Brady napped for a little while. Then we made our way to some friends for a 4th of July cookout and celebration! We had a good time. This is a yearly event. The last time we were able to go there were 4 pregnant girls there, including myself. This year there were 4 wild 1-2 year olds running around. All the littles ended up inside during the fireworks, except for our little man. He LOVED the fireworks. The only tears he had were when he couldn't run help daddy light the fireworks. He oooed and aahhhed with the non-pyromaniacs and laughed and cheered on the guys having roman candle and bottle rocket wars.

After some consideration of Saturday night events, this Mama has started to have some concerns! The night consisted of 2 falls down the front steps, LOUD fireworks, hysterical laughing at the boys aiming roman candles/bottle rockets a little too close for comfort at each other, and a direct sprint towards the shiney sparks shooting towards the sky, all without any sign of fear or tears, I have decided to start praying for strength and safety now for the teenage years! I am afraid I might need it!  Oh boy! I fear there will be many ER trips in our future! Ahhhh!

Sunday, we had a pretty low key day and then went to the drive-in after church that night. We saw Toy Story 3. Brady does so well at the drive-in! They have a playground for before the movie begins, which he loves!  He watched about 3/4 of the movie. He sat in his little chair with a death grip on his slushie mesmorized by the big screen. Near the end of the movie, he climbed in my lap and fell asleep. So sweet!

It was a great 4th of July weekend!
